Diros Caves

Athens, early in the morning. We are picking you up from your hotel or apartment and driving to Peloponnese, where we are going to visit Diros Caves, to admire a Greek and global natural phenomenon!

After having the necessary stops-breaks for snacks and pictures, during an adventurous journey, we reach our destination. Near Mani, in Laconia prefecture, there are two caves, Vlychada and Alepotrypa, whose formation is appreciated to have begun hundreds of thousands years before! The first one’s exploration started in 1949 and was not easy at all, since the largest part of the cave is under the water. Scientists of many different specialties have been involved in the caves’ study, because of the impressive variety of their findings.

Having completed our adventurous visit, we are leaving Peloponnese, having kept deeply in our hearts this unforgettable experience and driving back to Athens.
